Our Campervans

We are proud of our campervans which we feel allow you to travel and 'camp' in luxury whilst still letting you experience wild camping and see some of the more remote areas of the highlands.

 

Our campervans are designed to comfortably sleep 3/4 people - the back seats of the camper convert into a double ‘rock n roll’ style bed and there is a further double sleeping platform in the elevating roof space.  The camper will seat a maximum of 5 with four 3-point seat belts and a lap belt for the middle seat.

 

Our vans are 3.0 litre turbo diesel and are automatic with fixed 4 wheel drive.  They are all fitted with a radio/CD player and also have the option to connect your MP3 player - we find this a great little feature to have!

 

If you are a larger party or have children (or adults!) that want a bit of extra room then you can take advantage of our attachable awning that provides additional sleeping space for 2 people as well as a covered outdoor space.  As the awning is free standing you can drive away for the day leaving it for when you return in the evening.  Please see our prices page for the cost of hiring the awning.

The campervans are fully heated with a thermostatic control - in our experience the heaters are nice and quiet to run and get the campervan nice and toasty in no time - perfect if your thinking of booking a winter break with Black Isle Campers.  The swivelling front passenger seat is also a bonus as it means you can move freely through the camper without having to step outside!  Our vans are 4x4 meaning a winter break is possible with us without the worry that you will encounter some wintry weather conditions!

We provide everything you need in the 'kitchen' area including pans, crockery and cutlery, as well as a few basics that people tend to forget when packing - cooking oil, salt and pepper! 

 

We also supply bed linen at NO extra charge.
 
The campervans are equipped with a mini fridge, gas cooker and sink (with the fresh water tank fitted underneath the campervan floor). As the campervan 'kitchen' is fully equipped it is easy to budget and cook a delicious meal while watching the sun set over some beautiful Scottish scenery! 

 

The main bed is ‘rock n roll’ style and simply folds out to create a comfortable and cosy double bed and the folding roof is easy to raise and gives extra headroom and also a further double sleeping space (suitable for 2 small children or 1 adult).  The table provides a good space for eating and as the front passenger seat swivels there is plenty of room for 4 people to sit and eat together.

 

We supply a 240v electrical hook up lead for campsites, gas for cooking and there is storage space for all your bits and pieces including a wardrobe!

If you wish to spend the majority of your holiday off the beaten track and experience ‘wild camping’ we also supply a porta potti for a small extra cost (prices page). It is self contained and fully flushable and comes with a small tent that which packs down nice and compact. All we ask is that you empty and leave the porta potti in a clean and acceptable condition prior to returning the van! We are also lucky in the Highlands to have very clean public toilets - which also often have a shower block - if you don't fancy the porta potti!
